Minutes from the 2007 AGM - 21st March 2007 (All Bar One, Waterloo)

1. Committee Positions

All current positions were discussed throughout the evening and new positions within the team given. As agreed by the majority, here are all the positions and members associated:

  • Chairman - Mr Haigh

  • Treasurer - Gordon
  • Captain - Mr Haigh
  • Vice Captain - Barry
  • Tour Manager - Andy
  • Entertainment Committee - Rob and Glen
  • Website Manager - Peter
  • Match Reporter - Peter and Barry
  • Official Photographer - Rich
  • Scorer - Peter

It was agreed that in future seasons the Captain and Vice Captain would be chosen by ballot at the AGM.

2. Fixtures

Again it was decided to arrange all the games on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night during the summer months (May, June, July and August). All games to try to miss important World Cup fixtures. 8 games would be sufficient for this season. Proposed matches are as follows:

  • SHELL - ACT: Mr Haigh
  • Audit Commission - ACT: Mr Haigh

3. Ground

As we found Regents Park the best ground for us all to get to it was agreed by all members to play our games there again.

4. Fees Membership

Fees were agreed at 20 pounds per season, the money would assist in purchasing new equipment and Net Sessions A standard charge of 33 pounds per game per team was agreed - The opposition Captain will be told of the price in advance of the game (Unless there is a return fixture). This season the cost of the pitches could be around the 50 pound mark. Gordon to chase payments.

5. Sponsorship Several members of the team spoke of attempting to get sponsorship for the team this season. Below is a summary

6. Nets

It was agreed to book a few sessions prior to the 30th of May. Prices were as follows - The Carib kitty to pay half, £3 per session for Carib members and £6 for anyone else. It was mentioned to take 2 sets of pads to the session to speed up the process when changing batsmen ACT: Peter to book for 4 sessions.

7. The Team - Club Membership

It was agreed that we would now allow new members to join the team, although numbers should be restricted. A Two Tier membership was agreed, Full Members and Associate Members. Full Members have the first refusal on playing in cricket games, Associate Members are asked on a first come first served basis. Cost for Full membership was a Joining Fee of £20 and Yearly Subscription (Currently £20) Associate Members would be allowed to buy a Carib Beer Polo Shirt, and order of asking would be on whether they bought a shirt or not.

NOTE: All members of the Carib Beer XI are forbidden to play against MR HAIGH AND THE CARIB BEER X - NO EXCEPTIONS.

ACT: Phil to send emails to people asking about membership.

8. Kit New

Kit which has to be purchased is:

  • 2x Bats
  • Wicket Gloves and Pads
  • Match Balls

ACT: Gordon to buy new cricket balls.

9. AOB Annual Request - Change of Name

Mr Haigh wanted the name to be changed to just Carib Beer XI, *as will always be the case* this was not approved by the rest of the team.

Website

Agreed that Peter had done an excellent job on the website promoting the team. Certain sections were asked to be updated: Player profiles. Fixtures. Contacts (Webmaster etc...). Add MYSPACE and YOUTUBE Accounts ACT: Peter, Barry and Gordon to Update.

Test Match Booked for the 25th of August.

This will take the form of a 40 over game vs. Rest of the World, and would be a very informal afternoon, all welcome to come in and join the fun.

Alcohol Policy

The Two tier Structure for games worked very well last year and it was agreed to keep the same rules. On Social games, Carib Beer members can drink but not in the outfield. On important games, no drinking allowed whatsoever. The Captain and Vice Captain will agree on what constitutes a Social or Important game. Once the individual's role in the game has finished then drinking is allowed. Umpires allowed alcohol in moderation. £20 fine for breaking rules per game. ACT: Mr Haigh and Barry to Work out games in advance.

Toss

No Agreement was made on if we should still Bat or Bowl first, so the decision will be made with the Captain on the day.

Bowling

Maximum of 4 Overs per person, per game.

Umpires

A 5 pound fine will be given to Carib Members for swearing at the Umpires, the money will go towards the Team Kitty.

Team Pub

It was agreed to change the venue of the after Cricket Team pub ACT: Rob\Glen to choose a new pub.

Team Meals

It was agreed to have 3 meals this season. One at the Start of the Season, One at the end of Season and one around the Orthodox Christmas (12th Jan). ACT: Glen\Rob to organise.
